Josh Berman - Jason Roebke - Chris Corsano - Giovanni Di Domenico - Tatsuhisa Yamamoto

De Singer and Sound in Motion/Oorstof present a challenging double bill with sizzling out-jazz and inspiring soundscapes from some key figures in the adventurous music scene.

JOSH BERMAN - CHRIS CORSANO - JASON ROEBKE (US)

It is exactly nine years ago that cornet player and composer Josh Berman (one of the star players of the Chicago scene) was a guest in Sound in Motion's Oorstof series with drummer Paul Lytton and bassist Jason Roebke. With the brand new release ‘Everybody Else’s Life Too’ for the renowned Corbett Vs. Dempsey label under his arm, Berman is now ready to surprise again with a streak of exciting jazz. Loyal companion Roebke is back, and master drummer Chris Corsano (active in just about every layer of adventurous music)  completes Berman's dynamic trio.

GIOVANNI DI DOMENICO - TATSUHISA YAMAMOTO (JP/IT)

Brussels-based Italian pianist and keyboard player Giovanni Di Domenico and Japanese drummer Tatsuhisa Yamamoto by now share a richly filled musical history. This driven tandem  is often found in good company such as Akira Sakata and Jim O’Rourke or Manuel Mota, Eiko Ishibashi and Joe Talia.

As a duo, Di Domenico and Yamamoto generate a very diverse and challenging musical palette. If Mokusatsu (the great 2022 release for Matière Mémoire) is anything to go by, their live set promises to be another musical escapade on a knife edge.
